Ryan serves as Chief Science & Design Officer at Pathways and directs MeaningLabs, the company's applied research lab. His work studies the implicit patterns operating beneath the surface in how people lead, decide, relate, and get stuck, and translates that research into tools, technologies, and experiences organizations can put to use.

Before Pathways, Ryan spent over a decade closing the gap between what behavioral science knows and what actually reaches people. He co-created COMPASS for Courage, a gamified toolkit that reached over 20,000 youth nationally, and co-founded The Phoenix Sessions, a digital therapeutic training parents to deliver anxiety interventions at home. Earlier work through Humanity by Design included consulting and embedded leadership across child mental health, education, sustainability, and organizational development.

Ryan holds a PhD in clinical psychology from Arizona State University with specialized training in dissemination and implementation science and is a fellow of Yale's Innovation to Impact program in healthcare innovation. He remains connected to the university research ecosystem through federally funded research collaborations, institutional initiatives, and mentoring emerging scientists and entrepreneurs.
