David has spent twenty-eight years studying why leaders succeed in one environment and fail in another. Across 650+ executive search engagements and the study of organizational culture through 5,000+ leaders in seven countries, he kept seeing the same pattern: high performers didn't lose their capability when they failed in new roles. They walked into cultural conditions nobody could see and nobody had language for. That observation became the foundation of Pathways.
At Pathways, David leads client strategy across three areas: executive search grounded in cultural alignment, culture of performance diagnostics, and leadership development. His work with Danny led to Performance Syntax, a diagnostic methodology that surfaces the hidden operating rules of an organization's culture by studying the people who thrive in it. He has partnered with organizations including Regeneron, Accenture, Mayo Clinic, Cigna, University of Michigan, and Expedia, from startups to Fortune 500s across twelve industries.
